Requirements
[edit]
Linux
- Mercury 2.0 requires no additional libraries.
- Mercury 1.9 requires the JMF.
[edit]
Windows
- You'll need the JMF libraries, they are installed if you use the default installer (if you didn't, you can get them here).
[edit]
Mac
- Mercury uses the quicktime libraries to connect to your webcam.
- If you can see your webcam using iChat or iMovie, it should also work with Mercury.
- iSight webcams require no additional libraries, but for some webcams you may need a webcam library like macam (list of macam supported webcams).
[edit]
Webcam settings
You can find the webcam settings at Menu : Preferences, Global preferences; Webcam, Settings
[edit]
Webcam source (Mercury 2.0)
The webcam source should be JMF on Windows, V4L autodetect on Linux and Quicktime on Mac (these are the default settings).
[edit]
Image quality
High will increase the image quality, bandwith usage and cpu usage.
[edit]
Send interval
If you experience low fps, you may wish to lower this value. In Mercury 2.0, there is a slider called Stream control in the sending webcam window that is tied to this setting.
If this setting is too low (for example when your upload speed is insufficient), Mercury 2.0 will increase it by itself until it's ok again.
